X-rays are routinely used as a diagnostic procedure to help examine and diagnose conditions or issues inside of your pet’s body that are out of sight to the veterinarian. This gives us a view of a pet’s bones including teeth, gastrointestinal tract (stomach, intestines, colon), respiratory tract (lungs), heart, and genitourinary system (bladder, prostate). We are offer digital radiology that allows us to offer a quicker diagnosis for your pet and uses less radiation than traditional x-rays. Interpretating x-rays requires great skill from your veterinarian, they may also work with other radiologist in certain cases in an effort to get a thorough diagnosis for your pet. In order to avoid blurry images a pet must be still and remain calm while an x-ray is taken. In some instances, a pet may need to be sedated with a short acting general anesthesia. If any questions about our x-ray services, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
